People evacuated after fire in Edinburgh's Haddington Place

The fire is believed to have started in a flat.

People were evacuated from a wine bar after emergency services were called to a fire in Edinburgh's Haddington Place.

Police were called to the fire at 8.10pm and they remain at the scene along with fire crews, and left the scene at 9.10pm on Thursday (November 28) evening.

Customers and staff at Spry wine bar were evacuated as a precaution, although no injuries were reported.

Eyewitnesses said smoke could be seen 'billowing out' of the building, and that at least four emergency vehicles were in attendance.
