POLICE have launched a month-long campaign to target offenders and deter crime in the Pentlands area.

Operation Cipher will see officers on high-visibility foot patrol and carrying out arrests for outstanding warrants.

The fire service and city council will provide support for the scheme, which will also see officers hold mobile street surgeries to speak with residents about their concerns.

Inspector Stevie Dolan said: “We are carrying out numerous activities, which we hope will make the area safer, cleaner and stronger.”
