A spokesperson for Police Scotland wrote on Twitter: "#PDTora was searching for a missing person when divisional officers found him on the flyover of the A1.

"#PDTora and #TPDLoki arrived and persuaded the male off the flyover with some puppy cuddles.

"Good job by all involved. #ItsOkNotToBeOk."

Police closed a section of the A1 for about two hours on Sunday night to search for the missing teenager and one other person.

A previous police helicopter search of Arthur's Seat had been unsuccessful in its search for the pair.
