POLICE have admitted they are no closer to finding the body of murdered bookkeeper Suzanne Pilley after all leads thrown up by a high-profile Crimewatch appeal were exhausted.

Ms Pilley, 38, disappeared in May 2010 in Edinburgh. Colleague David Gilroy was jailed for her murder in 2012. Detectives believe Gilroy killed Ms Pilley in the basement of their Edinburgh office before dumping her body.

Calls received by police after the BBC programme in June led detectives to a remote spot near Minard in Argyll. But Detective Chief Superintendent Gary Flannigan said: “All the work emanating from the Crimewatch programme has been followed through and there are no developments.

“We will continue to investigate any new information concerning the whereabouts of Suzanne Pilley’s body, and anyone who knows something which may assist our inquiries is urged to contact police.”
