Police are appealing for information after a painting was stolen from an Edinburgh city centre residential property.

The painting was taken on January, 29, 2020 and was painted by Scottish artist John Faed.

The canvas measures 28 inches by 36 inches.

John Faed was born in Galloway in 1821 and died in Edinburgh at the age of 91.

Other paintings by him have been sold for up to £3,000, and the police has estimated that that this one falls between £2,000 and £3,000.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 485 of January 29 2020, or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
