Police issue appeal after man seriously assaulted

A MAN has suffered serious head and facial injuries after being attacked outside a city centre bar.

The 24-year-old also had his wallet and watch stolen during the incident just after 3am on Thursday, June 25.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information on the assault and robbery outside Bar Soba in Hanover Street to come forward.

The suspect is described as a man with tanned complexion, possibly of South American descent.

He was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap back to front, a black coloured bomber jacket, dark jeans and grey trainers.

Detective Constable John Dunn said: “This was a brutal attack which has resulted in the victim has sustaining serious injuries, which will have a long-term effect of his well-being.

“It is crucial that we trace this suspect as soon as possible. Anyone who saw this man in the Hanover Street area on Thursday, or has any other information, is asked to contact police immediately.”
