Police in Prestonpans drug bust following tip-off

Police in East Lothian have recovered drugs worth around £7,000 from an address in Prestonpans.

Following information being received from the public, a warrant was executed at a house in Preston Avenue on Friday 24 November.

Herbal cannabis and cannabis resin, collectively worth £5,600, cocaine worth £1,400 and drug paraphrenalia were seized at the address.

A 47-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were subsequently charged and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court Tuesday November 28.

Prestonpans Inspector Andy Harborow said: “A number of resources from across the Lothians and Scottish Borders Division supported the execution of this warrant including local officers, officers from the Community Investigation Unit and detectives from Proactive CID.

“These drugs cause serious harm to our communities and we remain committed to acting on all the information we receive from the public regarding drug crime.
