Officers discovered the care home assistant only possessed a provisional licence and was not insured.

Solway represented herself at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday where she pleaded guilty to three road offences.

Sheriff Adrian Cottam fined the 22-year-old a total of £640 and banned her from the road for 12 months.

But Solway will be allowed to take part in an online drink drive rehabilitation scheme which if successfully completed will see three months taken off the ban.
