Police have warned of several attempted car break-ins in East Lothian.

There have been several reports of a man trying to break in to cars parked on the street in Musselburgh, Tranent and Port Seton.

The man is described as about 5’9” tall, with a slim build, dressed in dark clothing and carrying a rucksack.

Local officers have appealed to the public to take extra care to make sure cars are securely locked and that no valuables can be seen through the windows.

East Lothian Police has also asked anyone who may have seen the suspect or witnessed any similar attempted break-ins to report it by calling 101 with the incident number 0659 01/04/20.
