Robbers take hundreds of pounds from woman, 82

AN 82-YEAR OLD woman has been targeted by thieves who made off with a haul of jewellery and hundreds of pounds.

The break-in and theft occurred in Bervie Drive, Livingston sometime between 10am and 6pm on Monday.

The pensioner returned home to find her property had been entered and various items of jewellery had been stolen along with a three-figure sum of cash.

Officers are now conducting local enquiries to trace those responsible and anyone who can assist with their investigation is asked to come forward.

PC Chris Kay said: “The elderly victim has been left devastated at the theft of her belongings and is keen to have them returned, as many are of great sentimental importance.

“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the Bervie Drive area on Monday is asked to contact police immediately.

“Similarly, anyone with information relevant to this enquiry is also asked to get in touch.”
