Son of vulnerable missing Edinburgh mum Elaine McArthur issues emotional video plea as concerns grow for her whereabouts

Police in Edinburgh are renewing their appeal to trace a 48-year-old woman who is missing from the north of the city.

Today her son Harry McArthur has also issued a video appeal to help trace her.

Elaine McArthur, also known as Elaine Campbell, was last seen around 12.40pm on Saturday, 18 April outside a shop on Crewe Road North. She then walked east along Royston Mains a short time later.

She has not been seen since and officers and her family are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Son issues plea after 'beautiful mum' Elaine McArthur goes missing

Elaine is described as white, 5ft 1in tall, slim build, long blonde hair which was tied up. She was last seen wearing a khaki green waterproof jacket, blue jeans, green trainers and carrying a green rucksack.

Chief Inspector David Happs, Local Area Commander for North West Edinburgh, said: “Our officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage and using the Air Support Unit in our efforts to trace Elaine.

“I would ask anyone who has seen Elaine, or recognises her description, to contact police as soon as they can.”

Anyone with information regarding Elaine’s whereabouts is asked to contact officers on 101, quoting incident number 1604 of 18 April 2020.
