Yesterday, Police in East Lothian issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward to assist the enquiries to find the culprit.

People were asked to get in touch if they had seen a male wearing a grey hooded tracksuit and carrying a white plastic bag.

Following the appeal, police found and charged the 29-year-old man for the six thefts that were reported.

East Lothian detectives have thanked the public and urged locals to ensure that their cars, garages, sheds and houses are locked to prevent crimes of this nature in the future.
