Teen on drugs charge after schoolgirl Dione Melville dies
Dione Melville, 15, died on Sunday morning after falling ill at a house in East Calder around 9.50am.
It is understood the teenager, who was a pupil at West Calder High School, had been in the village staying with a friend.

Hide AdAmbulance crews took Dione to St John’s Hospital in Livingston, but doctors were unable to save her.
Two other 15-year-old girls, who were at the same address at the time of the incident, are recovering after also being taken to hospital.
Lisa Grubb, acting head teacher at West Calder High School, said: “Dione was a popular girl and this is clearly a very upsetting time for her friends and family.
“Dione was an ambitious young lady who had plans to work in the hairdressing and beauty industry after leaving school in the summer.

Hide Ad“She was very focused on her future and the thoughts of the entire school community are with Dione’s friends and family at this incredibly sad time.”
Police are understood to be investigating whether drugs were involved in the incident.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with supplying drugs in East Calder on Sunday, however the cause of Dione’s death will not be known until after a post-mortem is carried out.
A neighbour of the family, who did not wish to be named, said: “I didn’t know Dione very well, I just knew her gran, and from what I heard she was a lovely girl.

Hide Ad“It’s just a tragedy and such a shame for the family. My thoughts are with them at this time.”
Tributes for the teenager have poured in on social media, with many friends leaving comments on Dione’s Facebook profile pictures and mentioning her in tweets.
One friend wrote: “Rest in paradise my beautiful girl, you didn’t deserve to get taken away from us.
“Shine bright, fly high and sleep tight babe. Love and miss you forever and ever my girl.”

Dione’s family were too upset to comment at their home in West Calder yesterday.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police were called to an address in the East Calder area at around 9.50am on Sunday, March 27, following a report of concern for a teenager.
“The Scottish Ambulance Service attended and a 15-year-old girl was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained. A report has been submitted to the procurator-fiscal and inquiries are continuing.”
