Teenager injured after violent mugging in Livingston

A 14-year-old boy has been left injured after a violent mugging in Livingston last night.

The boy was walking on Loan Path in the Howden area when he noticed two older boys following him around 9.40pm.

The teenagers, aged between 15 and 16, asked him for money before attacking him, leaving him with facial injuries.

They then took his mobile phone and headphones.

Police are looking for two suspects described as white, male, around 5ft 10 and aged 15-16.

One had ginger hair, a slim build and was wearing a blue and grey tracksuit.

The other had fair hair with a slim build and was wearing a blue hoodie and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank from Livingston CID said:

“This has been a terrifying ordeal for the young victim. I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or has CCTV to please get in touch so we can catch those responsible.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3963 of 12 September 2020.
