One local resident said they saw about four police vans and 10 officers, including some who were going door to door on the street, close to the foot of Leith Walk.

It is understood the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and had asked for an ambulance himself while in the premises.

The police spokesman said that no arrests have been made and the man was given a warning.

Police had left the scene by about 2:50pm.
