Acting on intelligence, officers stopped a Suzuki Swift in the Muirpark area of Tranent on 25 August.

This led to two properties being searched, and a further recovery at a nearby address. Almost £8,400 worth of cash and over £1,300 worth of cocaine were collectively seized.

Two men, aged 21 and 20, were arrested and charged and are expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 8 October.

On Thursday, a search warrant was executed at a property on Hares Close in Cockenzie. Over £200 worth of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a baton were among the items seized.

A 48-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with this, and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 13 September.

Chief Inspector Steven Duncan, Area Commander for East Lothian, said: “These seizures demonstrate the local Community Action Team’s ongoing commitment to working with the public, partners and colleagues across the East to tackle drug crime.”
