Police in East Lothian have arrested and charged two people under the Misuse of Drugs Act after a significant amount of controlled drugs were recovered in Musselburgh.
Officers stopped a Ford Focus on Ladywell Way at around 3.40pm on Friday 20 October and carried out a search of the vehicle.
The search revealed quantities of heroin, cocaine and diazepam worth an estimated value of around £2,800.
A 39-year-old man appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday 23 October and a 37-year-old-woman will appear in court at a later date.
Sergeant Derek MacDonald from Tranent Police Station said: “We are committed to tackling drug crime in East Lothian and this recovery has ensured these harmful substances did not make their way onto our streets.
“Anyone found to be involved in crime of this nature will be robustly dealt with.”
