TWO MEN needed hospital treatment after a substance was sprayed in their faces in a “vicious attack” at a cash machine.
The men were assaulted at an ATM in North High Street, Musselburgh, between 7.15pm and 7.40pm on Saturday.
Police said they were approached by someone at the cash point who sprayed an unknown substance in their faces.
The victims, who are both about 35 years old, were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where they were treated for minor injuries to their faces and eyes.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have seen the two victims earlier in the night to contact them.
The two men are both white and around 5ft 9in. One has a medium build, short brown hair and was wearing a dark blue and white top with grey trousers.
The second man was wearing a black top.
Detective Gavin Morrison said: “This was a vicious attack on these two men which resulted in them having treatment for injuries to their faces and eyes.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who saw them around the time of this attack and who may have information about their attacker that can help us with our inquiries.
