A HOODED vandal who poured acid over an expensive Range Rover is being hunted by police.

The vehicle was left badly damaged after a green corrosive liquid was poured over the roof and will almost certainly have to be written off.

Garage owner Brian McPhillips claims the damage caused is estimated at around £3000.

Dad-of-six Mr McPhillips has released CCTV footage of last week’s vandal attack outside his home in Prestonpans, East Lothian, in a bid to catch the crooks.

Mr McPhillips, 42, said: “I’ve never had any trouble like this before but it looks like the Range Rover will have to written off. The damage is really terrible and the acid has stripped all the paint away and gone right through to the metal. I can’t think why anyone would do this but it certainly looks like it was deliberate.”

Police appealed for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
