Vandals run amok in park

GANGS of youths who are suspected of causing £12,000 of damage to a public park are being hunted by police.

A spate of attacks have taken place in King George V Park in Blackburn, West Lothian, in recent weeks, with play equipment broken, fires being deliberately set and smashed glass left lying around. Officers said they were “determined to find the perpetrators”.

In the most recent incident, a wheelie bin was set alight causing significant damage to nearby Astroturf.
