West Lothian man, Robert Black, 60, jailed after exposing himself to mother and child in train station

A 60-year-old man has been sentenced to a year in prison for exposing himself in front of a mother and child in a West Lothian train station.

Robert Black, of Whiteside in Bathgate was arrested by the British Transport Police (BTP) on Thursday 27th May after an incident took place at the station at 2:25pm.

He was charged for Sexual Exposure under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.

Black pled guilty at Livingston Crown Court on Tuesday 6th July to a reduced charge of public indecency. He was given 356 days imprisonment, reduced to 328 days due to time served. He is subject to Protection of Vulnerable Groups Disclosure and to Sex Offender Notification Registration for 10 more years.

BTP Detective Constable Crawford Gillies said: “Unwanted sexual behaviour will not be tolerated on the rail network. Everyone has the right to travel on the network and in stations without being subjected to this unacceptable behaviour.
