West Lothian police issue 10 drivers with fines for illegal and dangerous parking in Bathgate

Police have issued 10 drivers with fines in Bathgate town centre this morning following complaints.

Officers in West Lothian issued the fixed penalty notices to vehicles which were parked illegally and dangerously in the George Street pedestrianised area.

A police spokesman said the fines were issued between 10am and 11am on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, police said: "Bathgate Parking Complaints Update.

"Sadly 10 Fixed penalty notices were issued to vehicles parked illegally and dangerously in Bathgate town centre this morning, this is a safety issue for visitors to the area, please do not be the next motorist to receive a £30 fine #parksafe."

Pictures were also shared by police of a car parked in the area and signs saying no vehicles are allowed in the pedestrian zone except for loading.
