A STRETCH of road outside Stewart’s Melville College is to be extended to take in a new puffin crossing.
Transport chiefs intend to increase the part-time 20mph zone on Queensferry Terrace towards Belford Gardens.
A new crossing will be built this year to improve safety as there is heavy traffic during school end times and rush hour.
The project will cost around £60,000, a report to the city’s transport committee stated.
“The alteration of the 20mph limit around Stewart’s Melville College, coupled with the new puffin crossing, will improve child safety around the pedestrian entrance to the school on Queensferry Terrace”, officials wrote in a report to councillors.
