Cyclist hurt in hit-and-run

A WOMAN has been hurt after being knocked off her bike by a white van driver who failed to stop.

The 35-year-old cyclist was struck by the Transit van in Rodney Street at around 5.20pm on Thursday.

She was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary suffering from minor injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information to contact them.

PC Fraser Mitchell, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “At this time, we’re still working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision and are asking anyone who witnessed this to come forward.

“Anyone who saw a white Transit van in the area around this time, or has information which can help us trace the driver, is also urged to get in touch.”
