Dairy lovers flock to Edinburgh's inaugural cheesefest
Hundreds of caerphilly selected cheesemongers were on hand to show off their brie-liant creations after tickets for the event sold out.
While mature fans may have opted for classic varieties, more exotic samples included wasabi gouda, Mexicana extra hot cheddar, prosecco and raspberry Wenslydale and a luxurious truffle raclette from the Cheese Cavern.

Hide AdOther vendors sold hungry cheese fiends treats such as mozzarella sticks, halloumi fries, macaroni cheese pressed into waffles and melted raclette platters with cornichons and proscuitto. But others with a sweet tooth fondue Di Rollo’s demonstration of artisan rolled ice cream and cheesecake so tempting that the stall ran out of supplies.
In queso attendees were in the mood for something different, two bars were available and live music was performed by local musical talent throughout the day.
Some visitors told the Evening News they camembert a day like it, while others told us the event has ricotta come back next year.
