Data breach cop in court

A POLICE officer from Edinburgh accused of illegally accessing information from work computers is to appear in court next month.

Chief Inspector Allison Strachan, 49, has been charged with perverting the course of justice and five counts of breaching the Data Protection act.

Prosecutors claim Strachan accessed sensitive information from Lothian and Borders police computers between October 2006 and May 2010. The hearing is adjourned until next month.
