Detective faces data charges

Allison Strachan, 49, from Edinburgh, made no plea when she appeared in the city’s Sheriff Court.

She is accused of knowingly and recklessly accessing information from the force’s computer system without consent and without proper policing purpose between October 2006 and May 2010.
