Development land on market

LAND earmarked for two major property developments in the Leith Walk area has gone on the market.

Shrubhill House on Shrub Place and nearby 4-6 Murano Place have been put up for sale by joint agents Rettie and Savills.

As the Evening News told last month there has been overseas interest in acquiring Shrubhill House, the abandoned city social work headquarters, prior to it being put on the market yesterday.

It already has planning permission to become a 260-bed student residence, with alternative consent for a 239-bed hotel.

Murano Place also has permission to be developed into a 276-bed student residence.

Agents also hope to attract a major retailer to the large retail space on the ground floor of the Shrubhill House.
