A DRIVER is being treated in hospital after a crash on the M8 motorway.
The 30-year-old man was the only person in a Honda which left the road and struck a tree at around 12.30pm on Sunday.
He was trapped inside the car and had to be cut free after the smash near junction 4 in West Lothian.
Police said the man remains in a serious condition at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Sergeant Neil Inglis said: “We are seeking witnesses to this road traffic collision and anyone who was on the M8 westbound in this area around 12.30pm, who saw the vehicle or collision, is urged to contact police.”
The M8 was closed westbound while police investigated the incident.
