Driver is cut free from van

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital with neck and back injuries after being cut free from a car wreck in Midlothian.

Firefighters used hydraulic tools to rescue the 47-year-old man trapped in his van following a collision with a car at Lady Brae, Gorebridge, at 10.50am yesterday.

A 76-year-old passenger who suffers from a heart condition was checked over in hospital.

Meanwhile an 80-year-old man suffered facial injuries after his car left the road near Haddington at the Oak Tree roundabout and crashed into a tree at 3.30pm yesterday.The driver was taken to the ERI.
