Drivers told to take care

ROAD users in the Lothians have been urged to prepare for winter by the police.

They have asked motorists to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy.

Meanwhile, ten mini-tractors, six extra road workers and a new £450,000 salt storage plant are among the winter preparations announced by East Lothian Council this week.

In the week that the Scottish Government launched its Ready for Winter? campaign, the local authority laid bare some of the measures.
