FIVE city charities are to receive grants through the latest round of the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland Awards.

Edinburgh Women’s Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre has been given £5000 towards the salary of an information development worker, while Milan, a senior welfare organisation, was awarded £4500 towards the new post of day support service manager.

Down’s Syndrome Scotland received £6000 towards the salary of a family support officer. Pass It On, which adapts donated computer equipment and gives it to people with disabilities, was given £4000 towards the salary of a new part-time member of administration staff, while Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Advice and Support for Parents received a donation of £2000. The money will be used to pay for holidays for families.

The foundation supports charities improving life for people who are disadvantaged or at risk of becoming disadvantaged.
