Maureen is one of just ten regional semi-finalists from across Scotland.

Speaking on the competition she said: ‘I forgot I applied for the competition so was very pleasantly surprised when I received the call to tell me I was a regional semi-finalist.

‘I have been wearing glasses since I was five years old and was bullied as a child, even by my brothers. But now I wear my glasses with pride.

‘I can’t wait to hear if I’ve made it through to the final stages of the competition.”

Now in its 21st year, the competition raises valuable funds for anti-bullying charity Kidscape, which has totalled £300,000 to date.
