Edinburgh Zoo unveils wishing tree

Have your say

Edinburgh Zoo has unveiled a hand-crafted wishing tree as part of its centenary celebrations.

Designed and constructed by on-site blacksmith John Ramsay, the 12-foot tree has a trunk and branches made out of steel, 792 individual leaves, six birds and a butterfly.

Visitors and supporters of the zoo and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland are invited to buy a plaque to be engraved with their wish, with all proceeds going to towards the work of the RZSS.
