TEN pupils at Linlithgow Academy have been sent home after becoming ill with norovirus-like symptoms.

And in a separate case, one third-year pupil at the West Lothian school was confirmed to have E.coli.

Duncan McCormack, NHS Lothian public health consultant, said: “We are investigating an outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting, likely to be caused by the norovirus.”

The E.coil case is not linked to the school.
