Principal says jobs are the prime focus

THE PRINCIPAL of Scotland’s newest college has told business leaders in the Capital that more than 90 per cent of its students secure employment or use their course as a springboard to further study.

Mandy Exley, Principal of Edinburgh College, told the Federation of Small Businesses East of Scotland Annual Dinner that 92 per cent of students completing courses go on to a “positive destination”.

Recent research carried out at the college showed that 56 per cent of students went on to further college study after graduating, while 19 per cent progressed to higher education at university and 17 per cent gained full-time employment.Ms Exley said: “Our aim for the students is a simple one - to help them along in their journey to get a job, to keep a job or get a better job.”
