ELEVEN men have been charged over trouble in the wake of the Edinburgh derby in August.
The men – supporters of Hearts and Hibs – were arrested following a police investigation into post-match disturbance in Lothian Road and Bread Street on August 11.
All 11 men, from Edinburgh, West Lothian and East Lothian, are due to appear in court today and tomorrow.
Police Scotland Inspector Gary Dickson said: “The disturbances that took place following August’s derby match caused great alarm to local residents and patrons of the nearby businesses and a robust investigation was launched to bring those responsible to justice.
“We are committed to keeping people safe and violence and disorder will not be tolerated. Anyone who engages in such offences can expect to be dealt with by police”
