End of the line for TIE comforts

IT is the ultimate sign of the fall from grace of the company that was set up to run Edinburgh’s tram project. Since 2006, staff at TIE have been based in a plush office near Haymarket Station – a site that will become a major transport hub.

But TIE will face its D-day next week, with the company being formally wound up on Monday and the remaining staff moving out of their CityPoint office in Haymarket Terrace.

All of the staff who have not been made redundant and will continue to work on the tram project will be moved to far less salubrious facilities – in portable offices, above, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
