AN American high school is holding a free concert of classical and contemporary music on Friday night.
The Bloomfield Hills High School Orchestra and Concert Band, from Michigan, will perform at St Cuthbert’s Church, Lothian Rd, at 7.30pm on Friday, April 8th.
More than 60 musicians from the school will showcase a wide spectrum of music ranging from Highland Legend by John Moss to Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars.
Director of Bands, Alan Posner, said: ”We have been planning this concert for more than a year – and are delighted to be able to perform this event free of charge.
“Edinburgh is synonymous with world class arts and performance – so what greater thrill can my students have but come here to play.
St Cuthbert’s Church has had a long history of serving the local community, particularly with a lively music and arts programme of organ recitals and choir concerts.
The Bloomfield Hills High School is located north-west of Detroit and has a student body of about 1,600 students.
The students are highly experienced in live performance, regularly playing festivals and conferences throughout Michigan State.
You don’t need to book - just turn up and enjoy the music!
