Written in 1937, Jean Anouilh’s Dinner With The Family is a delightful comedy drama charting the adventures of the debonair Georges Delachaume, who has invited an innocent, but not so naïve, young lady to dinner to meet his parents.

However, beneath his bonhomie lurks a murky past – Georges is trapped in a loveless marriage to a rich hysterical trigger happy maniac and embroiled in a sordid affair with his best friend’s wife.

Head along to the latest production from Edinburgh Makars, which opens a three-night run at St Bride’s Centre on Wednesday night, to see how Georges disentangles himself from this situation with the help of a crazy old woman, a singing butler and pair of over-the-top ham actors.

Dinner With The Family, St Bride’s Centre, Orwell Terrace, Wednesday to Saturday 26 November, 7.30pm, £10 (£8.50), 0131-346 1405
