THE Caledonian Hotel celebrates its fifth anniversary this month with a series of celebrations throughout September.
Obviously, the iconic West End hotel has been around a lot longer, but on Sunday, it will be exactly five years since it became the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh.
“We are delighted to be honouring our fifth year as part of the Waldorf Astoria family,” says Dale MacPhee, general manager.
“As an old Victorian railway station, The Caledonian has more than 110 years of rich heritage, we are privileged to be a part of its fascinating story.
“We hope guests old and new will join the festivities as we celebrate this fantastic milestone.”
On Sunday, those celebrations focus on The Pompadour by Galvin, the hotel’s impressive dining rooms, where guests whose birthdays fall on 17 September, the official anniversary, will receive a complimentary meal.
Throughout the month, visitors to The Caley Bar will also have the opportunity to savour classic cocktails from Waldorf Astorias across the globe, including Beijing, Dubai, Jerusalem, and Park City.
Built in 1903, the landmark Scottish property joined the world renowned Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts portfolio in 2012, bringing the brand’s internationally recognised standard of luxury service to the Capital, and if you are feeling flush you could experience that luxury.
The anniversary sees the launch of a special birthday package, the Landmark Experience, which allows up to five guests to stay in the prestigious Caley Suite for just £5,000 during the month of September. The package includes a five-course tasting dinner followed by a five-flight whisky tasting, as well the hotel’s Quintessential Breakfast and a visit to the UK’s only Guerlain Spa for a final spot of pampering.
