Film-lovers can now climb castle ruins with Scarlett Johansson, hide from the Redcoats of Outlander and explore the honeymoon suite of Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman as part of East Lothian’s new Hollywood tour map.
Fifteen locations have earned a spot on the guide, ‘East Lothian on Screen’, which allows visitors the chance to re-enact their favourite Hollywood scenes at some of East Lothian’s most iconic film sites.
They range from the starring role of stately home Gosford House in 2000 family classic ‘The Little Vampire’, to Tantallon Castle – where Hollywood bombshell Scarlett Johansson was filmed in this year’s thriller ‘Under the Skin’.
Shooting locations from iconic TV series such as Balamory, Case Histories and House of Mirth also feature on the guide. The project was produced by East Lothian Council and Film Edinburgh in a bid to help showcase some of the region’s Hollywood connections.
The maps will now by distributed by VisistScotland across local tourist offices.
Jenni Steele, film and creative industries manager at VisitScotland, said: “The region has become a firm favourite among film-makers over the years.”
