TWO nights of classic pop await at the Playhouse on Friday and Saturday, kicking off with a tribute to brother and sister duo The Carpenters and culminating with the ever popular Illegal Eagles performing the works of Glenn Frey and co.
On Friday, however, it’s The Carpenters’ Story that is set to captivate.
A concert-style production it recreates the classic songbook that made The Carpenters legendary in the world of popular music.
The outstanding vocals of Claire Furley and pianist Phil Aldridge take centre-stage, accompanied by a band playing Richard Carpenter’s original orchestral arrangements and of state-of-the-art video projection.
Expect all the Carpenters hits including (They Long To Be) Close To You, Yesterday Once More, We’ve Only Just Begun, Superstar, A Song For You, Rainy Days & Mondays, and many more!
The following evening, the world’s official No 1 Eagles tribute returns for another outstanding performance showcasing their trademark musical prowess, acute attention to detail, and incredible showmanship.
These phenomenal musicians have been touring for more than two decades and remain true Eagles fanatics.
Their longevity and continued international acclaim are due in no small part to their extraordinary mastery of the Eagles’ distinctive sound.
Expect to hear the very best from the Eagles’ repertoire including Hotel California, Take it to the Limit, Life in the Fast Lane, Take It Easy, Lyin’ Eyes, Desperado and plenty more!
