THE world’s most famous burlesque dancer is bringing her sizzling show to the Capital later this year.

The only Scottish date on her world-wide tour, Dita Von Teese promises to bring glamour and seduction when she performs her critically-acclaimed show in November.

She will showcase her world-renowned champagne glass act at the saucy centre of a showcase that has sold out in cities across the USA, Canada and Australia.

Along with her most famous act, Dita will also perform some of her most revered striptease acts in The Art of the Teese at the Playhouse on November 15.

She will showcase a technicolour musical striptease scene “Lazy”, the ballet-themed burlesque “Swan Lake Stripteese”, plus her show-stopping Rhinestone Cowgirl Act with her handsome, high-stepping male “Vontourage”.

Fans will also see her fellow cast members perform with some signature stage props, including her crystallized carousel horse, a giant sparkling red heart, and a golden claw-foot bathtub.

“Although I’ve travelled all over Europe to perform my martini glass act as a guest star in other shows, for fashion events, television programs and such, I’ve always dreamed of bringing my full-length revue to Europe,” said Dita.

“Because of our lavish production, it seemed impossible until now. I’m very excited that for the first time ever, I’m coming to Edinburgh with all the signature props and sets I’m known for, along with an all-star cast of the best of burlesque from all over the world.

“I’m so thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to present this revue that I feel represents the multi-faceted glamour of neo-burlesque that is seeing a revival bigger than I could have ever imagined!”

With its diversity in casting, The Art of the Teese is known for celebrating both the male and female form with a variety of body shapes, ages, and ethnicities.

The inspired audiences often come dressed to the nines, creating an unforgettable, uplifting atmosphere that brings together fans that, like Dita, love the art of glamour and vintage style.

The performance will showcase the stunning visuals of the exclusive acts that have made Von Teese the top performer in modern burlesque. The decadent spectacle treats audiences to four of Von Teese’s most exhilarating performances, including a brand new version of her iconic “Martini Glass” routine which features a beautiful new baroque style gilded champagne glass, crystallized from top to bottom with over 150,000 Swarovski
crystals.

With haute couture costumes by Jenny Packham, Catherine D’Lish and Mr. Pearl, plus elaborate custom-designed stilettos created by Christian Louboutin, Dita’s self-produced full-length revues are the biggest touring shows in the history of burlesque.
