ALWAYS one of the first pantos in the land, Musselburgh’s Brunton Theatre return to the classic favourite Cinderella for their festive entertainment this year.

Written and directed by Mark Cox, well known from his role as Tam Mullen in BBC Scotland’s Still Game, the production features a chorus of local youngsters as villagers.

Bringing the tale of Cinders, her Ugly Sisters and her Prince to life are Richard Conlon and Mark McDonnell as the Ugly Sisters, Keith McLeish as Andy and Kirsty Halliday as Cinderella.

Joining them on stage to complete the cast are Blair Robertson as the Prince, Shonagh Price as Fairy Godmother, Derek McGhie as Buttons and Sean Hay as the Baron.

Both Halliday and McGhie are well known in East Lothian as tutors with East Lothian Youth Theatre and Brunton Players.

The action is played out former Singing kettle designer Robin People’s fun, bright set.

Producer and general manager of The Brunton Lesley Smith, says, “We are delighted with the strong creative team and cast that we have put together this year for The Brunton’s pantomime.

“Mark Cox’s very funny script and expert direction along with Robin People’s fabulous and ingenious set, will ensure a truly fantastic panto experience for our audiences.”
