Six by Nico reveals saucy inaugural menu for city

THE latest addition to the Capital's burgeoning restaurant and bar scene has opened its doors.

Already a hugely popular restaurant in Glasgow, Six by Nico on Hanover Street the brainchild of renowned Scottish- Italian Chef, Nico Simeone, and boasts a minimal design, starkly contrasted by grand fixtures and fittings with atmospheric mood lighting.

Pioneering a revolving culinary hub, every six weeks, Nico and his team will re-invent the wheel - serving a brand new six-course tasting-menu - each one themed upon a different place, memory or idea.

Drawing inspiration from both at home and abroad, Nico and his team will combine different ingredients, flavours, and dishes, to bring memories and stories to the plate. Creating a brand new dining experience every six weeks, each new chapter will be kept a surprise with new menus being published two-weeks prior to the next theme.

The Chippie: Salt and Sauce Edition will kick-start this series of evolving concepts this weekend.

The six-course tasting-menu provides a nostalgic nod to the traditional fish and chip shop showcasing the flavours for which the UK is framed for worldwide and acknowledges the famous Salt and Sauce condiment peculiar to Edinburgh, where a mixture of malt vinegar and brown sauce is used to accompany chips or any meal from the local chip shop.

Dishes includes Chips and Cheese, Steak Pie, Sausage Supper and the classic Deep Fried Mars Bar.

Nico says, “We are very excited to launch this week in the capital with The Chippie concept.

“Most people are familiar with the tastes and scents of their local chip shop and we wanted to take the idea of the everyday chippie menu and re-invent it to create a playful food experience that guests would recognise and be amazed by”.
