THE Andy Williams Show topped American TV ratings throughout the 60s. Indeed it was the late crooner who championed The Osmonds, helping them become one of the biggest bands in the world.
It is fitting, therefore, that The Osmonds should be headlining The Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular, when it tours to the Queen’s Hall later this month.
Originally staged in Branson, USA, at the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre, the must-see holiday extravaganza comes to the Capital on December 21.
Owner of the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre, and youngest member of the chart-topping Osmond family, Jimmy Osmond, a favourite in Edinburgh, says, “I am thrilled to bring Andy’s Christmas Spectacular to our friends in the UK.
“I first appeared on Andy Williams’ stage when I was only three years old. My brothers had been singing back-up on Andy’s biggest hits and had been regulars on his hit television series for several years.
“It’s such a joy to carry on Andy’s legacy and continue his treasured holiday tradition.”
An award-winning evening of variety, the show features nostalgic footage of the legendary Andy Williams from Christmases past.
There’s also a sing a longs to favourite Christmas classics including Silent Night, Last Christmas and Merry Christmas Everybody.
However, the highlight of the show will find The Osmonds performing their mega hits made famous during more than five decades of entertaining around the world.
Expect Love Me for a Reason, Crazy Horses, Down By The Lazy River and more.
And there’s more. Special guest stars on the night will be Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket as well as the Moon River Singers and dancers.
