Your Edinburgh Evening News website has been named Best Digital Platform at the Johnston Press Awards.

The award, which is shared with our sister titles on Scotsman.com, came as the EN’s Save our Stations drive to stop police station closures scooped campaign of the year.

We have also been shortlisted five times for the Scottish Press Awards next month, with our campaigning journalism, investigations and top-notch writing all in line for an honour.

The judges have included our coverage of Hearts in administration led by sports reporter Barry Anderson and our focus on Edinburgh’s sex trade headed by crime reporter Alan McEwen in the journalism team of the year category. Chief writer Sandra Dick, meanwhile, has been shortlisted in the feature writer of the year category.

Elsewhere, our Fare Deal series, which fought to ensure pensioner concessions were extended to the city’s tram line, is on the shortlist for campaign of the year. Frank Boyle is competing for the cartoonist of the year title to complete the line-up.
