Event fuels cost saving for drivers

Motorists are being invited to attend a free Fuel Efficient Driving event to find out how they could slash up to £300 per year off their fuel bills.

The FED event will take place at the Dobbies Garden World Livingston, Beughburn, Houston Mains, Livingston, between 10am and 4pm on Saturday.

It is one of a series of Energy Saving Trust-organised events taking place across Scotland over the next two months in a bid to encourage Scots motorists to save money and cut their carbon dioxide emissions.

A Fuel Efficient Driving expert from the Energy Saving Trust will be on hand to give practical advice, and people can also sign up for a training session with an instructor.

Energy Saving Trust transport manager Ian Murdoch said: “Fuel Efficient Driving not only leaves you with more cash in your pocket but also a smaller carbon footprint.

“It’s amazing how people can save fuel and money by adopting a slightly different driving technique.”

According to the Energy Saving Trust, by following FED techniques, motorists could save around 15 per cent per year on fuel.
