Facebook can help shape communities

Residents in Mayfield and Easthouses are being encouraged to get involved in shaping the future of their neighbourhoods by using Facebook.

People can now discuss their neighbourhood on the website and put forward their ideas and suggestions about how the area can be improved.

An online survey has also been launched to find out more about what people think about Mayfield and Easthouses.

The survey invites residents to give their opinions on topics including services, amenities and education.

Councillor Alex Bennett, elected member with responsibility for community planning, said: “Using Facebook and an online survey, as well as more traditional routes is a great way to reach as many people as possible.”
